Hvad får B&O ud af at have praktikanter?
Vi får nye impulser til vores innovationsproces, friske ideer og ofte også nyttige provokationer. Vi får også forfriskende bud på den unge generations – de fremtidige kunders - syn på vore produktområder, og så får vi naturligvis også en ekstra ressource i en periode.

Hvad skal der til for at komme i betragtning som praktikant hos B&O?
Man skal have et interesse- og kompetenceområde, der er relevant for os.

Hvordan søger man en praktikplads hos B&O?
Man fremsender en ansøgning med beskrivelse af tidligere arbejder og en begrundelse for netop at søge praktikplads hos os.

Hvad får praktikanten ud af at være i praktik hos B&O?
Den studerende får sat sit studieforløb indtil nu i perspektiv i forhold til arbejdsopgaverne og kompetencekravene i innovationsprocesserne i en større virksomhed og dermed et godt udgangspunkt for at optimere den sidste del af studieforløbet. Der vil oftest også være konkret faglig læring fra interaktionen med virksomhedens faste medarbejdere.

Hvad kan en praktikant bidrage med under et praktikforløb hos B&O?
Nye ideer og metoder - og normalt løses der også en konkret opgave af værdi for virksomheden.

Did you enter some sort of collaboration or contract with the company regarding your traineeship and your learning goals?
Yes, I have signed an internship contract with the Idea factory Department of B&O for three months, to help the research and production work in areas of innovation.

What have you gained from your traineeship?

The experience of my traineeship enables me to have a rather clear positioning of my ability and it’s very important to know what I can and what I lack. Neither blind self-confidence nor excessive inactivity is acceptable attitude. And I know how much I should improve in the industry I’m going to enter.

What were your expectations of the traineeship?
I expected to improve and expand my understanding of user interaction & experience through my professional knowledge and design methods. During the time of traineeship, I really had a chance to think about the individual experiences of the user and the expansion of new interactive means, which is a very good practical experience for an Interaction designer. It was at this time I was able to gain a more professional work ethic.

Which design and innovation projects did you get to work with during your traineeship?
The area of focus for me at B&O has primarily been in data visualization and experience design, and also made contributions to their process of ideation. Especially I took part in the investigation and development process dealing with the MOTS visualization.

What was your contribution to the projects that you were involved in?
I chose B&O ’more of the same’ visualization as my graduation project, and created a future concept interface aimed at B&O in view of ’more of the same’ visualized expression.

What was it like to work in a large enterprise?
In my opinion, a large enterprise is like an immense precision instrument, the employees are components which work closely together. People need to be highly organized and get along well with their colleagues, especially in a cross-disciplinary group.

Have your had contact with B&O after finishing your trainee period? If Yes then how and how much?
Yes, I had a good contact with B&O after my trainee, B&O afforded me lots help for my project, and especially they gave me a chance to present my final achievement to the entire department, which was a great benefit for me. But the best part is that they offered me a job, so now I work for B&O
